  • Klepsydra Technologies and BrainChip Announce Strategic Partnership for Heterogeneous AI Runtime for Akida™ Processors

    Brainchip Limited Holding Co (ASX:BRN)

“BrainChip’s Akida is the ideal neuromorphic partner in delivering the ‘performance layer’ that allows engineers to focus on building intelligent systems rather than fighting performance bottlenecks”.”
    — Mike Carey, President of Klepsydra North America.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA, UNITED STATES, March 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Klepsydra Technologies, a leader in high-performance edge computing software, and BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN, OTCQX: BRCHF, ADR: BCHPY), the world’s first commercial producer of ultra-low-power, event-based neuromorphic AI IP, today announced a strategic partnership to develop a revolutionary heterogeneous run-time environment for the BrainChip Akida™ processor family.

The collaboration integrates Klepsydra’s efficient software framework—capable of processing up to 10x more data with 50% less power consumption—directly with BrainChip’s Akida neuromorphic architecture. This partnership addresses a critical challenge in edge AI: the seamless orchestration of tasks between traditional CPUs and specialized neuromorphic accelerators.

    Redefining Edge Performance through Heterogeneity
By utilizing Klepsydra’s proprietary approach, the new runtime will allow developers to offload compute-heavy AI layers to the Akida accelerator while maintaining high-speed synchronization with host processors like ARM, RISC-V, and x86. This “heterogeneous” approach ensures that mission-critical systems in space, defense, and automotive sectors can achieve breakthrough performance without the need for increased hardware complexity.

“The synergy between Klepsydra’s high-performance orchestration and Akida’s event-based processing creates a power-efficient powerhouse for the edge,” said Steven Brightfield, Chief Marketing Officer at BrainChip. “This partnership provides our customers with a unified, space-ready API that simplifies the deployment of complex AI models in a heterogeneous compute for the most demanding requirements”.

“BrainChip’s Akida is the ideal partner for our expansion into neuromorphic computing,” added Mike Carey, President of Klepsydra North America. “Together, we are delivering the ‘performance layer’ that allows engineers to focus on building intelligent systems rather than fighting performance bottlenecks”.

    Key Benefits of the Partnership:
    • 10x Performance Boost: Enables edge devices to process significantly higher data volumes using existing space-grade processors.
    • Space-Ready Reliability: The joint solution complies with ECSS safety standards and features high-level cybersecurity protection, including algorithm encryption.
    • Hardware Agnostic Integration: Supports a broad compatibility matrix including Ubuntu, RTEMS6, and VxWorks.
    • Reduced Development Risk: Provides a “plug-and-play” foundation for rapid deployment of AI tailored to specific mission needs.
The integrated solution is expected to be available for targeting applications in autonomous navigation, predictive maintenance, and real-time signal analysis. Early-access partners in Q3 2026.

  • Digit Raises $3M in New Capital, Bringing Total Funding to $6.3 million as Demand Accelerates for a NetSuite Alternative

Digit, a modern ERP for the AI-era, raises $3M in oversubscribed funding, bringing total funding to date to $6.3M.

Teams are moving away from brittle legacy ERPs that weren’t built for operators, seeking purpose-built systems designed specifically for how modern operations actually work.”
    — Dan Koukol

ATLANTA, GA, UNITED STATES, March 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Digit, the AI-native operating system for manufacturers and distributors, today announced raising $3 million in oversubscribed funding, bringing total funding to $6.3 million. The round was led by Tech Square Ventures, with participation from Barrel Ventures and Service Provider Capital, and continued support from Assembly Ventures, HPA, and Grand Ventures.

This funding comes at a pivotal moment for the manufacturing operations market. Teams are moving away from brittle legacy ERPs that weren’t built for operators, seeking purpose-built systems designed specifically for how modern operations actually work. For the first time in decades, the market is wide open for systems of progress built for the AI era.

Digit entered 2026 with its strongest quarter in company history. This shift is playing out in real time, from growing manufacturers leaving spreadsheets behind to mid-market companies actively migrating from NetSuite. Teams can no longer rely on systems that only store data. They need systems that guide action. One customer that made the switch is Ranger Outdoors:

“We needed a system that was intuitive, cost-predictable, and aligned with our growth pace. Digit gives us enterprise-level warehouse capability without the complexity and cost that came with NetSuite.” – Bethany McCoy, Vice President of Ranger Outdoors.

With momentum from customers like Ranger Outdoors, the capital will be deployed across engineering, product, and go-to-market, accelerating development, expanding platform capabilities, and getting new customers up and running faster.

“Traditional systems weren’t built for the factory floor. Digit took a different path, starting at the operational core and building a solution manufacturing teams can deploy quickly, trust, and grow into. We’re excited to partner with Digit as operators look for systems that go beyond record-keeping and help unlock margin and throughput across their operations.” – Blake Patton, Tech Square Ventures Managing Partner

For Digit’s founding team, this moment is the one they’ve been building toward.

“We’re at the start of a new era that demands an entirely different technology infrastructure. Most companies know their legacy systems weren’t built for this moment, but rebuilding feels out of reach. Digit changes that, redefining passive systems of record to an active system of progress.

We’re the only AI-native system that lets companies re-platform fast enough to matter, surfacing revenue opportunities and margin gains within weeks instead of months.

This round gives us new capital to continue building a category-defining team, accelerate product innovation, and help customers unlock the hidden value that’s been sitting inside their businesses for years. While others are still preparing for AI, our customers are already running on the foundation it demands. We’ve seen firsthand that when companies have the right operating system, growth isn’t forced, it’s unlocked.”

For manufacturers ready to leave legacy systems behind, Digit is ready to meet them.

    About Digit:
Digit is the AI-native operating system for physical manufacturing and distribution businesses. Built to replace passive systems of record with active systems of progress, Digit helps operations teams manage inventory, track production, and surface revenue and margin opportunities within weeks of onboarding. Fast, intuitive, and built for the AI era, Digit is the system modern manufacturers choose when they’re ready to stop storing data and start acting on it. Learn more at digit-software.com.

During the competition, students completed a welding project based on a model of a Manta Ray unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV). The project required students to demonstrate welding technique, fitment, accuracy, and craftsmanship while completing the assignment within a set timeframe.

Top performers in the competition were recognized for their exceptional work:

First Place: Burke Koehn, Fort Osage High School

Second Place: Brayden Wagoner, Olathe Advanced Technical Center

Third Place: Cameron Price, Cass Career Center

In addition to the competition, approximately 35 middle school students from area schools participated in Project MFG’s Career Discovery experience. The program was designed to introduce younger students to high-demand career opportunities in the skilled trades and advanced manufacturing industries.

Students participating in the Career Discovery event had the opportunity to tour the live welding competition, speak with representatives from the American Welding Society, and learn about educational pathways available through MCC–Penn Valley’s Advanced Technical Skills Institute. Participants also visited MCC’s JE Dunn Construction Lab.

“This event highlights the incredible talent of students across our region and reinforces the critical role skilled trades play in strengthening our workforce,” said Dr. Kimberly Beatty, Chancellor of Metropolitan Community College. “Through our partnership with Project MFG, we are creating meaningful, hands-on experiences that inspire students to pursue high-demand careers in the skilled trades.”

Project MFG leaders emphasized the importance of providing students with early exposure to career opportunities in technical and trade fields.

“Our mission is to elevate the next generation of skilled trade professionals,” said John Hawkins, Project Manager for Project MFG. “By hosting competitions and immersive career discovery events like this, we help students better understand the value, opportunity, and pride associated with careers in the trades.”

The event reflects the ongoing collaboration between Metropolitan Community College and Project MFG to expand workforce development initiatives and strengthen industry connections throughout the Kansas City region.
