  • Premier Auto Protect Highlights Aging U.S. Fleet (12.8-Year Average) as Drivers Reconsider an Extended Car Warranty

Premier Auto Protect highlights how longer ownership cycles are prompting drivers to explore extended car warranty coverage.

As vehicles stay on the road longer, many drivers face repair costs outside factory coverage. We aim to help owners understand coverage options as vehicles age.”
    — CEO

NY, UNITED STATES, March 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Premier Auto Protect, a direct-to-consumer provider of vehicle service contracts (often referred to as extended auto warranties), is highlighting a fast-moving reality of ownership: Americans are keeping vehicles longer, and more drivers are navigating the high-cost “post-factory-warranty” years.

According to analysis published by S&P Global Mobility, the average age of U.S. light vehicles rose to 12.8 years in 2025, reflecting a growing share of older vehicles in operation. As vehicles age, the likelihood of expensive component failures rises—especially for owners of used vehicles with limited history, high-mileage commuters, and households that depend on a single vehicle for work and family logistics.

Why the post-factory-warranty period is getting more attention

Older fleet dynamics increase exposure to out-of-pocket repair shocks. As the vehicle fleet ages, more owners face repairs that occur outside manufacturer warranty coverage. S&P Global Mobility attributes the trend to factors including elevated vehicle prices and economic uncertainty, while also noting that registrations rebounded in 2024 but did not offset the volume of aged vehicles on the road.

Modern vehicles are more complex to diagnose and repair. Even when a repair is not catastrophic, today’s vehicles rely on densely integrated mechanical systems, software, and electronic modules. That can increase diagnostic time and parts costs—especially in the years after factory coverage ends, when owners typically begin to see higher-frequency wear-related failures and age-related component issues.

Used-car ownership has become a bigger financial commitment. With consumers holding vehicles longer, many drivers are entering the market after years away and may experience sticker shock, then keep their next vehicle for a longer ownership cycle. Over a longer cycle, the odds of facing an expensive repair—engine, transmission, cooling, air conditioning, steering, or electronics—generally increase.

What an extended car warranty means in practice

In consumer terms, an “extended car warranty” is often a vehicle service contract (VSC) that may help cover the cost of certain mechanical breakdown repairs after a manufacturer’s warranty expires, subject to contract terms, exclusions, deductibles, eligibility requirements, and a claims authorization process. VSCs can vary widely in what they cover and how repairs are handled, which is why buyers are encouraged to read the full agreement and understand limitations before enrolling.

Premier Auto Protect offers multiple coverage tiers—from basic Powertrain protection to more comprehensive Exclusionary (near-bumper-to-bumper) options—along with an EV-focused Exclusionary option designed for electric-vehicle components. Across plans, the company says customers may use any ASE-certified repair facility nationwide and review their agreement during a 30-day money-back guarantee period.

Practical checklist: three questions drivers can ask before purchasing coverage

What exactly is covered—and what is excluded? Compare “stated component” plans (which list covered parts) versus “exclusionary” plans (which cover most items except listed exclusions). Confirm whether high-cost electronics or comfort/safety systems are included for your vehicle type.
Where can repairs be performed? Some contracts restrict repairs to specific networks or dealerships. Others allow repairs at reputable independent facilities. Ask how repair locations are approved and whether pre-authorization is required.
How do claims and payments work? Understand the steps for diagnosis, authorization, and payment (including deductibles), as well as any documentation requirements, such as maintenance records.

As vehicles age, drivers researching extended car warranty options can find educational resources from Premier Auto Protect outlining common coverage tiers, repair-facility flexibility, and contract review considerations. Learn more at https://premierautoprotect.com/.

  • Damsels of Design: How Women Changed American Car Design in 1958

BTLPR’s Sean Hixson Tells Their Story — Including the Iconic Fancy Free Corvette — in National Corvette Museum’s Official Magazine

They were doing user-centered design work decades before that phrase existed. The fact that their contributions were largely forgotten is exactly why stories like this need to be told.”
    — Sean Hixson

SAINT LOUIS, MO, UNITED STATES, March 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Sean Hixson, founder of the automotive marketing comms firm BTLPR, authored a feature on the GM Damsels of Design for the Spring 2026 issue of America’s Sports Car, the flagship members-only publication of the National Corvette Museum.

The story, which traces a pivotal but largely forgotten chapter in GM and Corvette history, was later featured on Corvette Today with Steve Garrett, the only podcast dedicated entirely to Corvette.

The Damsels of Design were a group of eight to nine credentialed women designers assembled by GM design chief Harley Earl in 1958. Recruited from industrial design, fashion, textiles, and interior design, they weren’t entry-level hires. Each had an established professional career before GM. Earl embedded them directly into the design studios alongside male designers, gave them real assignments across GM’s brand portfolio, and put their work on public display at the 1958 Spring Fashion Festival of Women Designed Cars at the GM Building in Detroit — the first time an automaker presented a cohesive collection of cars designed specifically by women.

The Damsels rethought how people actually live with cars. Their work touched storage for everyday items, seat adjustability, ergonomic controls sized for a broader range of drivers, trunk organization, instrument clarity, and interior fabric choices. These weren’t cosmetic additions. They were usability upgrades that addressed real, everyday problems the mainstream studio had never prioritized. Many of the features they introduced quietly made their way into production vehicles in the years that followed.

One of the most recognized cars from the exhibition was a Corvette. Designer Ruth Glennie reimagined the Fancy Free, producing coordinated interior and exterior tones, purposeful storage, and what was reported to be an early form of retractable seat belt. The exterior stayed unmistakably Corvette. The Fancy Free is currently on display at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan.

Working with the curators at the Museum, Hixson also partnered with the GM Design Archive and Special Collections in Detroit, working with archivist Larry Kinsel to access imagery and documentation not widely published elsewhere.

“These weren’t women brought in to put a bow on a car,” Hixson said. “They were doing user-centered design work decades before that phrase existed. The fact that their contributions were largely forgotten is exactly why stories like this need to be told.”

The assignment reflects the depth of BTLPR’s two-year partnership with the National Corvette Museum. Over that period, BTLPR has generated nearly one billion earned media impressions and placed more than 500 stories in national automotive and lifestyle outlets including Hagerty, Car and Driver, The Manual, CarBuzz, Yahoo Sports, and Supercar Blondie. BTLPR has also developed the Museum’s Brand Book, contributed long-form editorial to its magazine, and supported a select website redesign.

“Hixson’s deep understanding of the automotive space and his relentless commitment to storytelling have made him an invaluable extension of our team,” said Ryan Eichler, Director of Marketing and Communications at the National Corvette Museum.

Hixson brings nearly 20 years of automotive marketing and communications experience to BTLPR, including work with ExxonMobil’s Fuels and Lubricants division across Mobil 1, NASCAR, Formula 1, IMSA, and NHRA, as well as iconic OEMs like GM, Porsche, and Michelin. BTLPR works exclusively with automotive brands and institutions.

  • Surety Business Launches Affordable Plug-and-Play Fleet Tracking for SMBs

New service powered by Alarm.com Connected Fleet delivers GPS tracking, fuel reports, and vehicle diagnostics at $8-15/vehicle/month with no contracts

SMBs deserve fleet visibility without enterprise complexity. We built this to be simple, affordable, and contract-free.”
    — Ryan Boder, Surety Founder

COLUMBUS, OH, UNITED STATES, March 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Surety Business, the self-managed commercial security provider, has launched an affordable fleet tracking and telematics service designed specifically for small and mid-size businesses. Built on the Alarm.com Connected Fleet platform, the new service gives SMB operators real-time GPS tracking, fuel monitoring, maintenance alerts, and driver behavior insights at a fraction of the cost of traditional fleet management solutions — starting at just $12 per vehicle per month as a security system add-on with volume discounts and no long-term commitment.

The fleet telematics market has long been dominated by enterprise-focused platforms like Geotab, Samsara and Verizon Connect, which often require multi-year contracts and monthly costs of $25 to $50 or more per vehicle. For a plumbing company with six vans or a delivery service with a dozen vehicles, those platforms are often overkill in both complexity and cost. Surety Business Fleet was built to fill that gap.

Setup takes minutes, not appointments. Each vehicle gets an Alarm.com Car Connector — a compact device that plugs directly into the standard OBD-II diagnostic port found in virtually every vehicle manufactured since 1996. There are no wires to run, no tools required, and no technician to schedule. The device connects over LTE cellular and includes a built-in battery backup, so it continues reporting even if vehicle power is interrupted or the connector is unplugged.

Once connected, business owners gain access to a cloud-based dashboard supporting up to 100 vehicles per business location. Core capabilities include real-time GPS tracking on a live map, customizable geofence alerts for when vehicles enter or exit designated areas, fuel consumption and efficiency reports, idle time monitoring, trip history logs with distance and duration, OBD-II vehicle diagnostics and maintenance alerts, and driver behavior monitoring for speeding, hard braking, and rapid acceleration. Fleet Trip Reports can be generated on demand or delivered automatically via email on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis — ready for accounting, compliance, or operations review without additional formatting.

Industry data indicates that SMB fleets lose an estimated $1,000 or more per vehicle per year to operational inefficiencies including excess fuel consumption, unnecessary idling, and deferred maintenance. Businesses that implement telematics typically realize 10 to 20 percent fuel savings by identifying and addressing these issues. At $8 to $15 per vehicle per month, the service can pay for itself within the first few months of use.

One of the most distinctive aspects of Surety Business Fleet is its integration with the broader Alarm.com business security ecosystem. Business owners who use Alarm.com for commercial intrusion detection, video surveillance, or access control can add fleet tracking to the same platform — one login, one app, one bill, and integrated user management across all services. This unified approach eliminates the need to manage separate vendors for facility security and vehicle tracking, a common pain point for SMB operators juggling multiple systems.

The service is available in two configurations: as a standalone fleet telematics system for businesses that need vehicle tracking only, or as a discounted add-on to an existing Surety Business security system. Volume pricing applies, with per-vehicle costs decreasing as fleet size increases. There are no contracts, setup fees, or cancellation penalties.

Surety Business operates on a self-managed model — no mandatory technician visits, no sales pressure, and transparent pricing published online. The company is part of the Surety family of brands, which has earned the Alarm.com Gold Partner Award for five consecutive years for its monitored security alarm and video surveillance service.

Surety Business is available nationwide. Businesses interested in fleet tracking can learn more and get started at https://surety.business/fleet.

    * Operational deployment of AI models without data science teams

The partnership enables industrial teams to progress along a clear value chain:

Data Capture → Data Contextualization → AI Model Development → Real-Time Inference → Operational Decision Support

Rather than exporting historian data into disconnected analytics environments, the native integration allows SORBA.ai to work directly within the industrial data ecosystem, shortening deployment cycles from months to weeks.

Accelerating Time to Value for Industrial Enterprises

For manufacturers, energy operators, water utilities, and process industries, the benefits of this integrated stack are immediate and measurable:

Faster Predictive Maintenance Deployment – Historical asset data stored in Canary can be immediately leveraged to train SORBA.ai models for failure prediction and reliability improvement.

Improved Process Optimization – Decades of archived production data become usable training sets for advanced regression and optimization models.

Reduced Integration Costs – Native connectivity reduces the need for custom ETL pipelines and third-party data engineering layers.

  • Thirty Years of Industry Excellence Powers DallasAutos4Less into Its Second Decade at Garland

Thirty Years of Industry Excellence Powers DallasAutos4Less into Its Second Decade at Garland

Buy-here-pay-here dealership on South Garland Avenue since 2014 has built a loyal Dallas County customer base through in-house financing and bilingual service.

GARLAND, TX, UNITED STATES, March 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — DallasAutos4Less has surpassed 11 years of continuous operation at 2660 S. Garland Avenue, a milestone that places the dealership among the longer-running independent used car retailers in the North Texas market. The business, founded in June 2014 by Managing Member Trung M. Tang, draws on more than 30 years of combined automotive industry experience to serve buyers across Garland, Sachse, Rowlett, Richardson, Mesquite, and the broader Dallas-Fort Worth region.

The dealership holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, a distinction that carries particular weight in the buy-here-pay-here segment, where consumer skepticism runs high and regulatory scrutiny from agencies like the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner is constant. DallasAutos4Less has maintained that rating since its BBB file was opened in October 2015.

Independent used car lots face steep operational hurdles that make long-term survival difficult. Dealers in the BHPH space must balance vehicle acquisition costs, internal loan portfolios, default risk, and reconditioning expenses while complying with federal Truth in Lending Act requirements and state-level consumer protection standards. According to industry data from the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association, more than one in three borrowers default on buy-here-pay-here loans nationally, which makes the financial discipline required to operate profitably for over a decade a notable achievement.

Tang built the operation around an underwriting model that evaluates employment stability and income capacity rather than relying on credit scores alone. That approach has resonated in Garland, a city of roughly 245,000 residents where the median household income sits at $74,717 and approximately 31% of the population is foreign-born. The dealership’s bilingual sales and financing staff serves a community where more than 36% of households speak Spanish at home.

“When we opened this lot in 2014, the goal was to build something that outlasts the transaction,” said Trung M. Tang, Managing Member of DallasAutos4Less. “Eleven years later, we still see customers from our first year on the lot. That only happens when you put a solid vehicle under someone and give them financing terms they can actually manage.”

The dealership currently maintains an active inventory of more than 50 vehicles spanning sedans, trucks, SUVs, and vans. Each vehicle undergoes mechanical inspection before listing and ships with a dealer warranty covering engine, differential, and air conditioning components. Buyers also receive a complimentary oil change and full interior detail at the time of purchase, benefits that remain uncommon among independent BHPH operations.

DallasAutos4Less in Garland, TX also operates an on-site service department, allowing customers to return for post-purchase repairs without coordinating with third-party shops. Staff members handle warranty claims, routine maintenance, and mechanical issues directly, with flexible payment arrangements available for repair costs outside warranty coverage.

The dealership’s referral program offers an additional incentive structure: customers who refer five buyers who complete purchases receive full payoff of their remaining vehicle balance. The program reflects a retention-focused business model that treats each sale as the beginning of a longer relationship rather than a single transaction.

DallasAutos4Less is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Financing applications are available online or in person at the Garland showroom.
